Student Testimonials:

From Lisa Falkenstein:

I took Meredith's Sleep Consultant Program.  As a newborn care specialist, certified pediatric sleep coach, certified postpartum doula and certified lactation counselor with over 20 years experience working with families, that has always valued emotional intelligence, I wanted to learn an even more intuitive, gentle sleep method than I had been doing.

I had been sleep coaching for years with success, but wanted to learn even more to help my clients with spirited, higher needs infants/toddlers.  These families need a much slower, step building sleep coaching method that makes gradual changes that are needed for the parents and children. Spirited kiddos have much higher needs for touch and parental involvement and Meredith's program addresses not only the child's needs, but the parents' needs for a peaceful transition.

Many times families with spirited children have had to work hard, for months to years to get their children to sleep and are just as exhausted physically and emotionally as the child and know they need help to make changes. Spirited children resist change and can be very demanding. Being able to coach those parents to help their child, gently and intuitively, is so important. Meredith's sleep program addresses the whole family.

With consistency, patience and dedication to following Meredith's plan, I have been able to help many families of spirited children get the rest they all need without the tears and fight!

From Madalina Brencus:

Finding Meredith’s podcast was a life-changing event for me. I am a medical resident in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry and after becoming a mom, having gone through med school, I thought I know a lot about babies, how to raise them and take care of them. I also believed babies sleep perfectly. Until reality hit me.

I started looking for answers and listening to Meredith’s first podcast episode on intuition made me reach out to her. After that, everything turned out to be about me finding some missing pieces that I didn’t know were missing from my life. I got to understand my daughter better, I started seeing improvements after implementing her methods and immediately knew that this is something that I want to help moms in my country do too.

I ended up becoming friends with Meredith and she became officially my mentor by having me on her sleep consultant training course.

I cannot begin to tell you and explain how much I love her work, her mission and her methods of helping families achieve their goals.

I you are looking for personalized help, empathy and baby-attuned methods, Meredith is the one to go for! 💛

From Alexandra Karakurt:

Meredith's coaching program is so comprehensive, full of valuable details but very concise and presented in a logical manner and at the right time. You have everything you need to know within this Program, plus Meredith’s amazing skills in training and mentoring. She does the job so well for her students, providing audio, video and written materials, plus the weekly quizzes and video calls, which are a great way of sedimenting the info and connecting with other professionals. Meredith is so open hearted in offering precious information for which she spent many hours putting together 🙂

From Kayla:

As a Registered Nurse and a Certified Sleep Consultant I value the importance of healthy sleep habits. I have worked with many families over my short 6 months in business with a high success rate. However when I hit a road block I decided to connect with Meredith. She has a vast knowledge beyond just the sleep principles. It is extremely important to have a consultant who looks at the whole picture, not just the components of sleep. Meredith is absolutely in-tune with infant development and conditions (such as reflux). She helped me shift my perspective and I am greatly appreciative of the time she dedicated to me.

From Brigita Gaubicher:

I fully recommend the Sweet Slumber Sleep Coach Training Program!

I took other sleep coaching courses. But this one is one of the best investment I have ever made. Lots of information, resources, and another approach that I have never seen.
A big plus is that we have class every week with Meredith Brough. She stays close to her students, and you can ask all the questions you want. You can even go at your own pace!

From Mia Piño:

Absolutely the best sleep coach training course! Meredith is truly amazing and wonderful.

Her course is full of resources and information; she's unique in this industry!

From Cristina Pascu:

Enrolling in The Sweet Slumber Baby-Centered Sleep Coach Training was definitely the best decision I ever made. After I decided I wanted to be a sleep coach, I spent weeks looking for the best fit for me, and only after I had the call with Meredith Brough I knew and felt that this woman would change my life. I'm so lucky having her as a teacher and mentor, she has an amazing career and a lot of experience, she has spent years researching all the aspects of child sleep and is ready to share it with others.

She constantly amazes me because she never stops, her program is getting better and better everyday, even if it's complet and knowledgeable, Meredith still wants to brings us more specialist, resources and improvements. If you are eager to learn, she is there to teach you everything you want so you can be the best sleep consultant, it only depends on you!

I truly believe she does the work of God, because since I started the course I found out what real baby-centered sleep approach looks like, I found out so many extraordinary things about baby needs, every information being centered on the best interest and well-being of the child, how every one of them is special and how can we make them thrive and be well rested.

I truly recommend this course if you want structured and science-based information, help from an experienced sleep expert and the feeling that you realy belong in this community, The Sweet Slumber family!

FAQs

When does the next session of training begin?

This program will relaunch on May 6, 2024.

What languages do you support?

The program is in English. But we supply notes for all of the videos so you can translate them.

We are translating the program into Romanian the summer of 2024.

We are planning to add Spanish and French programs next!

How does this program work?

During weeks 1-15, you will access an online program that will walk you through the process of learning everything you need to know to be a successful Baby-Centered™ Sleep Coach!

Students have weekly group meetings with Meredith (on Zoom) to discuss the material and ask questions (for about 1 hour). You'll have access to a private FB group to get to know each other, receive updates, and ask advice. There will be videos, written directions, and online articles to review.

At the end of each session, you'll take a quiz to help you remember what you've learned and show that you understand the material.

During weeks 16-20, you'll apply your knowledge by working with volunteer or paid clients. You'll collect information, create plans, and support your clients as they implement the steps and learn from you.

At the end of the program, there is bonus material to help you become a confident sleep coach/consultant and start your business on the right foot!

Plan to spend 50-60 hours going through course material AND attending weekly meetings.

Besides the course, there are other resources to review, such as articles and books, which will take additional time. You should expect to spend about 80 hours learning, reviewing, taking quizzes, studying and completing assignments. (Required by the Professional Sleep Consultant Association).

To become certifiied, plan to complete several assignments and support families for 400 hours if you train directly with Meredith in her extended mentoring program, otherwise plan to support families for 900 hours.

Is this course based on science?

The Sweet Slumber Baby-Centered™ Sleep Coach Training Program is based on evidence, sleep science, tried and true solutions from many experts in the pediatric sleep education world, and Meredith's experience as a mother of five, a sleep coach for more than 20 years, and a childcare expert for 30 years.

Our company believes in life-long learning. We will never "know" enough. We are open to learning from other experts and interested in keeping up with the latest research!

Lastly, we believe that God has been instructing us along the way. Many of the methods and solutions have been inspired through prayer and intuition.

Do you teach sleep methods other than Tracy Hogg's Pick Up Put Down, Kim West's Chair Method, and other common methods?

Yes! We don't think sleep methods are a cure-all in every case, but they can empower babies/young children to connect sleep cycles and lengthen out their naps and night sleep. We don't believe in pushing these methods on all parents, though. It's their choice.

Meredith talks openly about her version of the Pick Up/Put Down and the Chair Method on her podcast to illustrate what's different about her approach. But she has created 6 other unique "Sleep Ride" methods that are designed to be supportive, nurturing, intuitive and peaceful. You'll have access to all of these methods.

The Baby-Centered Sleep methods teach babies/children to trust their parents and love the place they sleep in. The methods can take a week or two or up to 3-4 weeks (which is sometimes necessary). We encourage connection, affection, and responsiveness.

As an FYI: Meredith created a soft timed-check method, meant to be used as an emergency back-up method for mothers who become unwell and at risk, as an alternative to traditional sleep training. (Parents remain connected with their children and don't follow strict rules with this method.) We would rather parents use this method instead of harsh methods. We want you to be equipped and ready for all types of challenges.

Do you support parents who want to cosleep, nurse through the night, or avoid independent sleep practices?

Yes! We do!

We have solutions for everyone.

We believe in supporting parents with their individual sleep goals and helping them optimize sleep on their terms.

Meredith and her graduates have supported hundreds of parents with these challenges successfully.

But little ones can sometimes be complicated and bring surprising challenges, so Meredith works closely with several sleep consultants from different backgrounds and programs to learn about their tools and solutions for mothers who choose to nurse during the night for extended periods, who cosleep, or feel uncomfortable considering independent sleep methods. We've got your back!

What age range will I be able to support if I complete this program?

The Baby Centered Sleep solutions are geared towards little ones 0 to 6 years old.

Do you offer support to your students after they complete this course?

Yes!

Before the course ends, you will have mentoring support from Meredith in weeks 16-20 as you begin applying what you've learned. You'll meet with her during weekly meetings and be able to email questions for input.

At the end, you will have the option to purchase an additional mastermind or mentoring program. Signing up for this program will cut the required practice hours down to less than half and give you tools to be the most successful sleep consultant/coach possible.

You will learn more about this option when you are in the program.

What are the requirements for certification?

Plan to spend 50-60 hours going through course material AND attending weekly meetings.

Besides the course, there are other resources to review, such as articles and books, which will take additional time. You should expect to spend about 80 hours learning, reviewing, taking quizzes, studying and completing assignments. (Required by the Professional Sleep Consultant Association).

For certification, plan to complete several assignments and support families for 400 hours if you train directly with Meredith in her extended mentoring program, otherwise plan to support families for 900 hours.

If you are a birth world worker, a sleep consultant, or a medical professional, please set up an interview to discuss the required hours for certification (it will differ).

Do the requirements change if I am already a birth world worker or a medical professional? (Including sleep consultants)

Yes, set up a meeting with Meredith to discuss the number of hours that will be required to become certified.

Do I have to keep up with the program and finish it in 20 weeks? Is there any flexibility?

Meredith will encourage you to keep up with the weekly sessions. A little bit of momentum, pressure, and accountability go a long way.

We also understand that life happens. If you get behind, we want you to follow your own pace and continue working.

If you need us to work with you because of something previously planned, let us know! We are flexible!

Will I have access to this program later?

Yes! You can continue to access the program in the future. There is no expiration.

You'll get to access all of the resources that are added to the program as we continue to learn!

How many people attend the weekly group meetings?

We like to keep these groups small so there is enough time for each of you to ask questions. There are anywhere from 5-10 people in each group.

What if the group meeting times won't work for me?

There will be multiple meeting times and days for you to choose from. We will do everything we can to accommodate you.

Each of our weekly meeting calls are recorded and uploaded into the program so you can watch the replays if you miss them.

What activities qualify as practice hours (for certification)?

Practice hours include:
  • Meeting with clients to establish trust and gather information
  • Reviewing questionnaires and background information
  • Preparing and creating sleep plans
  • Communicating with clients (phone, in-home, email, text- work focused)
  • Mentoring visits or calls
  • Coaching visits or calls
  • Working on solutions (thinking/planning)

What should I do to prepare for this program?

1. Learn basic computer skills.
You should be able to navigate a simple program. Know how to start videos and download PDFs or files. The program is simple to use.

2. Join Instagram and Facebook:
We'll create a group chat on one of these platforms. In the program you'll learn about using these 2 platforms for marketing, as well.

3. Set aside 30-60 minutes a day to work on the program. You should do this for at least 4-5 days a week.
